The Canal Arts Story: documenting the spirit of creating art in the public realm, from the beginnings of The Canal Arts nonprofit and our latest Canal mural, Bienvenidos al Canal, completed and celebrated in July, 2021, the work of three immigrant artists and youth artists, in collaboration with the group of community leaders, Voces del Canal, as advisors, an important element in The Canal Arts program. The building selected is a prominent gateway to the Canal, at the corner of Bellam and Belvedere.
You Are Home /Siéntese en Casa. This collaborative 60’ mural by ten artists, creating and joining twenty works, each depicting an expression of the immigrant experience.
Dr. Ramon Resa: Empowered Through Education, the inspiring life story of an orphan boy, a child farm laborer, who rose to prominence as a noted pediatrician and author, serving the communities of the Central Valley, in glass mosaic and acrylic media.
